24 Hour World Record Attempt

Alongside other key sponsors, TAG Heuer the chosen Timing Partner for this unique event will provide the timekeeping solution to ensure Lloyd de Boltz-Miller has the very best chance to secure his World Record attempt whilst raising funds for the very charitable and worthy cause for Wings for Life.

After a successful year of charitable fundraising in 2009 – during which he set European and British 24 Hour kart records – Lloyd de Boltz-Miller is set to raise the bar again in his bid to raise money for, and increase public awareness of spinal cord research.

This year he has paired up with Wings for Life – which invests directly into spinal paralysis research programs; with its pure focus of finding a cure for spinal injury. With more than 2.7 million paralysed patients worldwide and over 130,00 new cases each year, it is vital that, together, we push forward to develop new treatments.

On the 30th September, Lloyd aims to bring the World 24 Hour kart record to Britain for the very first time. And if that wasn’t enough, he also plans to re-write the phrase ‘endurance racing,’ with the ultimate test of man and machine – driving a Porsche Carrera Cup racing car, flat-out for 24 Hours.

After setting the European and British 24 Hour records in 2009, Lloyd is focused on breaking the current, South African-held World Record. Located at the Northamptonshire based Whilton Mill circuit, the clock will start at 10:00 on Thursday September 30th running straight through to 10:00 the following day.

The 24 Hour Challenge and Wings for Life is inviting you to attend – and by return become part of the world record, interacting with the Wings for Life Endurance team and the charity.

Whilst Lloyd will be going for the record on the international circuit, a 2 and half hour team endurance race on the 450m Mill Circuit along with clay pigeon shoot and quad biking will take place at the same time. The entry for each team of 4 is £325 and will present the ideal opportunity to allow visitors to test their skills.

Pace setters will ensure that Lloyd maintains the required lap times to take the record but again we would like to extend this opportunity for you to join him on track to be part of this unique event. A fleet of twin engined pro karts will be available for 15 minute slots on the day, all proceeds going to Wings for Life.

A selection of racing cars and automotive exotica will also be on display, whilst prizes and gift bags will be up for grabs. The Red Bull Energy Station will keep guests refreshed whilst at the wheel of the Vision Racer F1 2010 gaming consoles.

For those wishing to stay for the duration of the event, they will be welcome to an overnight BBQ and party. Once the world record has been achieved and the clock stopped, press interviews will be followed by team celebrations.
